Dearborn Track Club
Middle School and High School Base Training for Indoor & Outdoor
The Dearborn Track Club, a non-profit 501c3 corporation, became an approved affilate of the City of Dearborn Recreation Department December, 2010, and became an approved partner of the Dearborn Public Schools in June of 2011. The Dearborn Track Club's mission is to give kids of all ages easy access to the sport of track & field by offering coaching, practice sessions, classes/clinics, and AAU/USATF teams for the athletes to practice and compete on. The formation of the club gives area athletes year-round access to indoor and outdoor training facilities which is very important to athletes who need a place to train during school mandated off-seasons which prohibits competing and working on field events with their school team coaches.
The Dearborn Track Club's staff are both former athletes and coaches who have competed at the highest level of the sport. The club's staff have earned four U.S. Olympic Trial births, made 10 U.S.A. teams, and has 12 NCAA Divison 1 All-American awards between them. They have coached athletes to multiple NCAA Division 1 Top-15 rankings, conference champions and school records. In the past 15 years, several of their youth athletes have gone on to earn collegiate scholarships, a mission they plan to continue with the Dearborn Track Club.
The initial focus of the club will be on scheduling practice sessions for the winter and summer club teams and are offering classes on the fundamentals of running and jumping (coaching the field events). As the year progresses, they will also offer track meets and camps for athletes of all ages.
The Dearborn Track Club currently offers fall cross country programs, indoor track programs, and summer track programs. They are a registered AAU and USATF Track Club.
